Airfare, evening meals, City of Sitka taxes, fishing license and gratuities are not included in the package price.
In case of cancellation, your deposits (less 10%) will be refunded with at least 90 days’ written notice. No refunds will be returned on late cancellations unless the dates can be refilled. Try to pack lightly, a carry-on is best. You will check your fish boxes as luggage when you depart. It can be cooler on the water so we always suggest bringing layers. Better to be too warm and take layers off than being too cold and not having enough clothing. Bring waterproof boots or shoes. We provide quality Grundens rain gear, but not we do not provide boots.
You really can't go wrong from May through August for most species we target. The Chinook Salmon vary and can arrive from mid June all the way into August. There really is no "bad" time to come and fish.
We’re a family-run business, so it’s no wonder why we love seeing young and old alike together at Tongass Fishing Charters. The more the merrier! There is nothing quite like seeing the excitement on the faces of kids who reel in their first king or halibut, not to mention the shared joy that parents and grandparents get from sharing in the experience.

It is recommended that anglers be at least 6 years of age. Obviously you know your child best and whether he or she is ready for a full day out on the ocean. Often, the kids may even outfish their parents! Keep in mind, we only allow children out on the water if you have reserved the boat for your own group. If your youngster doesn’t get his fill of fishing on the boat, evenings can be spent casting out a line off our dock. We provide required life vests for your child to wear while on the boat and dock.
Yes, non-fishing guests are welcome to stay at our lodge!
For those who would rather stay on land, you can enjoy all the same lodge amenities and services that our land crew provides. Your group’s vehicle is available for you to come and go at your leisure.
Rates for non-fishing guests to join your group for lodging is just $100 per night plus taxes dependent upon availability.

During your time in Sitka, you will stay in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that backs up to the Tongass National Forest. It is located about 3/4 a mile from downtown Sitka and 6 miles from the Islandview dock where you get on the boat. The open kitchen and living room is the perfect place to relax and visit after a day on the boat. The kitchen is stocked with continental breakfast items including: eggs, bacon/sausage, yogurt, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, bagels, cereal, etc. For dinner, you have full access to the kitchen and the bbq grill on the deck. A quarter mile up the road is a trailhead to the Sitka Cross Trails. A trail system that is a great place for a run or a scenic walk in Sitka’s beautiful forest and muskegs.
